I've come to expect a lot from Tessa Bailey's books and this one just didn't hit top tier for me.

DNF'ED. I fell asleep while listening to it and realized that I didn't even want to go back and re-listen...so I just gave up.

This was okay if you're looking for a quick witchy read with some spice, but I never truly connected with the characters.

Mariana Zapata seems to be the queen of the slooooooowwwwwwww burn. Her books have an entirely different feel to them than a lot of the quick read romance novels I usually sink my teeth into. These books move with a slow purpose. I also have read the Wall of Winnepeg, and I preferred this one. My one complaint with this one is that the epilogue is over in a flash. I wanted even more!

I loved the Brown Sisters so much, that I had high hopes for this one but I was honestly bored.

This book felt like a warm cup of hot chocolate on a winter's night. There was something so comforting and it felt like my soul was slowly warming as their love blossomed.

I'm not exactly sure what the issue was here, but I was just really not into it and I got bored very easily while listening to this one.

The dirty talk and sexy scenes kept this read going for me, but this is not the book for me. There's a fake pregnancy going on for the whole book and I was just so uncomfortable with it the entire time.

Maybe this isn't an absolutely perfect book, but goddamn it I freaking LOVED reading this book. I stayed up late, woke up early, and even tried to read my kindle while blow drying my hair. I did not want to stop. The spice is fire, and the characters are fun. It took me a bit to get into the book but once it starts flying I was invested.

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph this book is ....Whew! One minute I'm over here ferociously fanning myself and the next moment I'm on the verge of tears. I can best describe this book as beautiful, dirty, poetry. 5 Stars. Read with a toy and a box of kleenex. Preferably not at work like I did............
