I was so enthralled and in love with the book HIM by Sarina Bowen (and Elle Kennedy) that I was excited to read this one. However, it just fell short for me and something was missing.
I really liked Roan and Allie, and all of Amy Daws' books are a delight to listen to. However, I got uncomfortable knowing that However, as a couple I did love their journey and have kept right along reading the Harris series!
Spoiler
Allie filmed their first sex encounter. I knew it was going to come out and just waiting for that had me feeling all sorts of ick.
Mac and Freya are a joy to read, and I'm always a sucker for a friends to lovers book! Freya is a plus-sized virigin and Mac becomes her "love coach". They are sweet and funny and the banter is great fun. Everyone told me I'd love Mac the most, but no one in the Harris World is going to surpass Gareth for me. ;)
I may or may not have melted into a pool of lust every single time Santino spoke Italian. The audiobook feels like a MUST for this one. (and all in the Harris World, if I'm being honest) I really liked Santino and I wish we would have seen more of him in the other books. We got just enough of him in Mac and Freya's that I was concerned about reading this book, but as soon as I got going I fell in love with him.
Easy and quick read, even though there's a lot of sadness and grief throughout the book. It never sunk its hooks into my soul, but it was a good slow burn read.
Have you ever known that a book is really good and really well done, but still for some reason, you couldn't get into it? That is this book for me. I feel as if it is my fault and not the book's fault. This may be a case of "mood reading" for me that just didn't pan out.
Before reading this book, I didn't read many reviews, and IT ENDS ON A CLIFF HANGER. I saw that it was a series, but I thought it would be different couples within the series. Nope, it's a cliffhanger. I did really enjoy the story and, to be frank, it has a lot of teachable spicy moments which I found fascinating.
An adorable slow-burn romance between co-workers. This book deals with the heavy topic of depression but somehow manages to do so in a light way that didn't feel overwhelming to me.
The hype is REAL. The narration is FIRE. The book is SMUTTY. And I AM HERE FOR IT.
