Ren and Frankie are a sugary sweet couple. There were a few times I was holding my breath HOPING amongst hopes that there would not be a miscommunication trope and Chloe Liese delivered. These two TALKED to each other and worked on their shit and I am freaking HERE FOR THIS! There was not a ton of dramatics within this story, because Frankie just living her life is hard enough. I loved and appreciated this book so much, and I'm really excited to keep going with the series.

I read this because it was the end of a series and I feel the need to complete things like that, and honestly, it was probably more fun to read than the first three and I still didn't love it. Yes, I am aware that reading a whole series I didn't love is probably something to do a deep dive on why I thought that was necessary but here we are. The book was okay. The writing in this series feels tired and for some reason, the use of big words and long listing descriptions just annoyed me.
This book was written over 10 years ago, and it feels like it. I still read the whole series because I'm me and that's what I do, but it felt tired and somehow TOO expected for even the romance novel genre (where sometimes I want things to go exactly as expected). The idea of having three friends that of course, are one blonde, one brunette, and one redhead, annoyed me on a level deeper than was probably necessary.
The entire prologue and epilogue were entirely unnecessary, as were many of the side characters. Also, I was expecting this to be spicier than it was...
I was going back and forth on whether I should give this 3 or 4 stars because I did truly enjoy reading it and couldn't put it down -- once I got into it. It did take a bit for me to get hooked and I think a bit of that might be due to the writing style. I know this is an ARC copy and editing can still take place but it felt a bit too unpolished sometimes. Nevertheless, I loved the story and the characters and my heart just ached for Cata and all her struggles. I'm a first-generation kid, and reading this book made me feel more connected to my dad and grandparents and everything they went through to move to America. The pain and struggles don't often get spoken about within the family but I know it wasn't easy. I'm grateful this book exists and that I was given the opportunity to read it and I actually wish there was more to it. The end was pretty abrupt and I wanted to dive deeper into their actual relationship and not just the lead-up to having one.

My favorite of the series. Wes started out so cringy in the other books, but the tension into this book was great. I really liked Bethany's journey and it felt quite relatable and honest. And, like the other books in this series, it's nice and steamy!
I sat in a chair and listened to this for 7 straight hours, so I guess you could say I liked it. ;) I did prefer Spanish Love Deception, but this was a good time. Nothing quite makes me fall in love more than a nice, sweet, cinnamon roll hero with a love of hand necklaces.
