This book is the darkest and saddest in the series, but it really helps the reader connect with and fall in love with the deeper and kinder side of Billy. After this book, your heart just aches for this relationship.
I'm trying to write this review two months after I read it and I remember zero specifics but apparently, I gave it two stars. I have definitely loved other books by Lauren Layne but this one didn't do it for me.
This book was written over 10 years ago, and it feels like it. I still read the whole series because I'm me and that's what I do, but it felt tired and somehow TOO expected for even the romance novel genre (where sometimes I want things to go exactly as expected). The idea of having three friends that of course, are one blonde, one brunette, and one redhead, annoyed me on a level deeper than was probably necessary.

I was so so in love with Love Lettering and had high hopes for this book as well. It was cute, but it did not pull me in and tug on my heart the way Love Lettering did.
This book is somehow both heavy and angsty while also having moments of syrupy sweet. I love Roscoe and Simone together so much.
I was brought to literal tears by this book. To see so explicitly that you are not alone in your feelings, and that you have the ability to work through them is just amazing. This book was the beginning of my therapy journey.
I keep wanting to use the word "contrived" for this novel, but that feels like a douchy word to use when my last novel obsession was about men who have wings.... However, this book just didn't do it for me. I didn't connect and I didn't fall in love with them.
