Oh wat was dit een geweldige novella! Het gaf me all the feels die ik van Dani Atkins had verwacht na het lezen van [b:Fractured|17380601|Fractured|Dani Atkins|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1375288993s/17380601.jpg|24173764]. En dit is nog beter geschreven gedurende het verhaal! Ik zat er op de eerste blz echt meteen helemaal in. Het is moeilijk om te omschrijven wat ik zo mooi vond aan dit verhaal zonder te spoilen, maar Dani Atkins is gewoon Heel Erg Goed in het schrijven van romance. heel veel zin om haar andere boeken te gaan lezen ook!
Ik heb dit boek in mijn lunchpauze op werk uitgelezen en dat was een slecht idee. Ik heb zitten janken van ontroering om het einde! Ik huil niet zo vaak om contemporaries dus dat zegt echt wat :) Ik had dit ook echt niet aan zien komen, want ik was niet zo weg van haar vorige boek.
Dit hele boek gaat over liefde, maar niet op een suikerzoete manier. Het is gewoon hartverwarmend mooi. Wat ik wat minder vond waren de korte stukjes van andere personages, omdat die aanvoelde alsof de schrijfster op een dwangmatige manier alle mogelijke losse eindjes af te ronden. Maar de rest van het boek was zo mooi, dat heb ik de schrijfster vergeven.
Ook vond ik het erg mooi dat dit boek gaat over 1 enkele dag. Dit geeft goed weer hoeveel verschil 1 dag of zelfs 1 moment kan maken op een mensenleven. Ook vind ik het mooi hoe diversiteit in dit boek een rol speelt. Het is een issue, maar op een manier die representatief is voor de personages want het boek gaat er niet over, het gaat over liefde. Diversiteitsdingetjes zijn drempels en dergelijke op die route, en dat is heel mooi weergegeven in dit boek vind ik.

Een prachtige roman, mooi zoals een vrouwenfilm mooi kan zijn. In sommige dingen erg voorspelbaar, andere plotwendingen zag ik echt niet aankomen. En het ging over meer dan liefde alleen - hoewel dat wel een van de hoofdonderwerpen is. Ik ging heel erg met het hoofdpersonage meeleven, nouja, op een paar stomme beslissingen na. Maar verder heb ik genoten van dit boek want het was precies wat ik hoopte dat het zou zijn: een boekversie van een lichte dramafilm. Ben ook benieuwd naar haar nieuwste boek!
Meh. Niet zo leuk als deel 1, voelt een beetje gedwongen qua verhaallijn.
'Hoe we allemaal liegen, met name tegen onszelf'. Dat zal bij mij vast wel mee vallen, ik ben een eerlijk mens. Wedden dat je dat dacht toen je de titel las? Dat had ik namelijk ook. Maar ik vond het wel interessant om te lezen over hoe het bij andere mensen in hun hoofd dan zat. En man, wat liep ik met mijn neus tegen de lamp. Want natuurlijk heeft de schrijver door dat we allemaal zo denken. Hij legt ook veel te goed uit hoe we ons oneerlijk gedrag tegenover onszelf goedpraten. En ineens besef je het dan. Jij bent net zo verdorven als de gemiddelde rest van de mensheid. Ja goh, haar komt dat gemiddelde ook vandaan.

Dit boek heeft me aangenaam verrast. Ik wist eigenlijk ook niet zo goed wat ik ervan moest verwachten qua verhaal. Ik had hem vaak zien langskomen op social media en had hem in de boekwinkel zien liggen, en toen ik hem bij de bieb zag liggen nam ik hem mee.
Dit moet jij eigenlijk ook doen, niet de achterflap van het boek lezen want daar staat iets op dat je leeservaring best wel veranderd. Zag ik toen ik na afloop de achterflap las ;) Ik vroeg me af hoe de schrijver dit boek zou omschrijven want het is zo een bijzonder verhaal.
Het is heel moeilijk om dit boek te reviewen zonder te spoilen :P Dit boek greep me onverwacht omdat het verhaal heel mooi en emotioneel is. Ik leefde heel erg mee met het hoofdpersonage en hoe ze dingen doormaakte. Ik las haar emoties niet alleen, ik voelde ze ook echt. Dat maakte dat dit boek me heel erg aangreep.
Waarom toch geen 5*? omdat het me aan een van mijn favoriete boeken doet denken (ik zeg niet welke want dat is best een spoiler dan), maar het kon het toch net niet evenaren. Daarvoor vond ik dat er over somige zaken te makkelijk heen werd gestapt door het hoofdpersonage, terwijl mijn hart toch wel echt in duizend stukjes lag. Maar zeker een boek dat me bij zal blijven en dat ik mensen aan zal raden als ze op zoek zijn naar een bijzonder en uniek boek met emotie!

I like the point of view, from the guy, but that did not felt like this is how a guy would feel and think, but rather how a female want a guy to think and feel and all.

The first book of 2017 is down!
It was a quick read and it was a real pageturner. But I think the title of this book is a major spoiler, which makes the first 60% of the book less fun to read.. And the ending wraps up really fast and confusing and the plot is satisfying but it could have been worked out better.

Had to get used to the writing style and the choice of words. It became very Bouquetstyle after that, when she met the guy. I was very underimpressed. But soon, it became interesting, well, a bit addictive to read. I quite like the guy and I'm really curious to how this continues.

Hmm, liked the first one better. He is just not my type. Let's see what March brings and if I'm continuing this series in April.. But for now, #teamwes

I like this was better! I like the characters and I like the storyline of this one. I still think the whole idea behind the series is quite meh.
Those are all arguments for me to not like this entire series enough to continue reading. BUT, as I'm reading this with my bookclub BooksEverAfter, we are talking about the first book of those three and this discussion is lovely, really fun to participate. I will see in April how many people are still reading and if the discussions are still as lively as this month, I will continue because it is so much fun to talk about this :)

If she stays with Wes, she gets all the money AND the guy of her dreams, so I think it is a bit stupid stubborn to continue with the plan because she wants to.. If it was the contract as an argument or so, ok, but she really says she wants to continue.. Of course she meets a lot of interesting people but that part is a bit meh to me. Oh and why doesn't Wes just rent her for the rest of the year? BTW, I'm also missing something in the book that has to do with a 28 days cycle in women.. ;)Those are all arguments for me to not like this entire series enough to continue reading.
