I enjoyed reading this. Nothing really wowed me, but I had a good time reading this.
There are a lot of people in this book. The characters are not very well described, so I had a hard time keeping track of who was who.
The love story in this feels a bit unnecessary. In the end, it does make sense, but I still think this would have been a perfectly fine book without the love story that feels a bit forced in it because YA has love stories (while it doesn't have to *kuch* [b:This Savage Song|23299512|This Savage Song (Monsters of Verity, #1)|Victoria Schwab|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1445529989s/23299512.jpg|42855493] *kuch*).
I really like the idea behind this story. I really do. I recommend this book if you like a bit creepiness, I haven't ever heard of a similar plot.

This book has all the possible feels in it It is so touching, so beautiful, so honest. I've even cried sometimes because those letters tell a story. And I've cried because it was sad, or because it was so beautiful. This is a book full of emotions and life lessons, and I recommend it to every human being.
So, this book was not for me. this can be an easy and fluffy read, but there were to many annoying things for me.
I did finish it because the easy read was very welcome during a time of a lot of hard work, it was book of the month at Books Ever After and it is perfect for the hard 2016 BEA challenge 'a book with the word love in the title.
But the main character is just to selfish with everything she wants to know, whether or not he wants to tell them. He is too much bad boy, she wants to fix him too desperate. there is too much alcohol abuse in this book, and too much smoking.
I do like the idea, why not fall in love with your stepbrother? yes, it is a bit weird, but you are not blood-related and it makes Christmas planning really easy, so I like that part of the story.
but this series is not for me. And with the 'So many books, so little time'-argument, I will not continue this series. I've got more books to read I will enjoy more :) I disliked this book, but somehow 1* feels to harsh because I don't hate it as much as i hate other books I've rated 1*, so hence the 2* rating.

This book intrigued me as soon as I saw the cover. 'Six kids disappeared. Five teenagers returned.' I wanted to knew what happened right away.
This book lived up to it's expectations. Sometimes they did special things with the layout of thoughts, which really added to the story.
I noticed when I red the second third of the book that I was still intrigued every page and wanted to know what happened, it was a real page-turner, but that I didn't learned anything about what happened.. This is really remarkable for a book to do that to me! i also really liked how the story played out, the plot is really well worked out!
I highly recommend this book to al YA thriller lovers!
This is the first hard copy edition for review I ever received, which is really cool. I really love it that publishers are starting to look beyond bloggers and booktubers. Of course, they have their value, of course, but there are other ways to pay attention for a book as well so kudos to the Dutch publisher Young&Awesome for their broader view!

Finished late last night. loved it I love how in those books, it is not all about a boy/boys/being in love, but also about family and friends, the ups and down that come with that, about what you want to do with your life in terms of a profession etc. Someone called it 'slice of life' books and that is the perfect term for these. It is a very quick read, easy writing and highly enjoyable. I cannot think of a reason for 4* in stead of 5 :P Maybe some parts were predictable, but somehow I did not really mind, so yeah 5* for this highly enjoyable and highly recommended read!
Oh Gosh this book was awful. Yes, the story with the sirens is unique, but that is the only positive thing I can say about this book. It is really slow, I did not connect with the main character, I don't like her and her thoughts. The story line is very predictable and it is just all too sugar coated. I have to admit, I really liked the first chapter, but all the other singings were just written so soft, not as horrible as I would imagine it. I did not enjoyed reading this book, but I was buddyreading this and it fits perfectly into a hard 2016 Books Ever After Challenge so I wanted to finish it, but it was a hard thing to do :P
Net als de andere boeken. Soms wat kunstmatige spanning, een cliffhanger op het einde, maar ik weet zeker dat hij overleeft want er zijn nog meer boeken in de serie. Ga wel verder lezen, maar 1 per maand is genoeg :P
Yes, in this book, Juliette is not the cry baby from the other books anymore. but now, all the boys are responsible for all the drama drama drama in this book. i think I hate that even more. It is just wayyyy too much and hence unrealistic. And the Juliette in this book differs wayyy too much for me from the person she used to be to be a realistic character development as well. it is just all wayyy to extreme for me.
And talked about extreme. The plot line in this book, the war, the epic fight.. I expected wayyy more of that, I was really disappointed by all of that.
I'm just really glad I'm finished with these series.
