A fitting end to the first Olympian series, with tragedy and battle, this book kept me reading late into the night. I devoured it in 3 hours. While Riordan's writing style is not exactly one I like, I still enjoyed the story, the fulfillment of the mysterious "great prophecy" and the satisfaction of the interaction with the gods. Despite this series not making my top 10 list of best series, I'll still recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy and mythology.
Rick has the habit of making most of his series sound the same. Percy Jackson was pretty good though. I'll definitely be reading the rest of the series. Percy is quick witted and likable, and Annabeth is so badass, but Grover is definitely my favorite character. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
ADDITIONAL: gods bless Rick for the subtle suggestion that kids with dyslexia and ADHD are all demigods.

I can't choose a favorite character. I love them all. But I need MORE coach Hedge.
This was a great book to read, kicking off the new prophecy series. I love the hints of Roman mythology, and hop to see more in the next few books (something tells me I will).
Again, Rick knows how to tell a story, even if it's very similar to his other books in terms of plot.

Oh Percy... what a guy.
This book has more mystery to it than the other RR books, I think. I'm really enjoying the multiple POVs for this series.
The thing that really makes me happy about this series is the fact that Percy is the only white guy. The other main characters are Asian and black. I hope more and more books come out with little to no white representation. Diversity is hopefully on the rise.

Oh my word. Whatever I expected when I started this book, I have to say it is so much better than I thought it would be. The characters, so fully flushed out, and the horror, so real. Everyone should read this. It does not disappoint, and it doesn't ruin the original Dracula at all, in my opinion.

When people say that the book is better than the movie, they really mean it. Frankenstein is a wonderful novel, full of expressions and feelings one could never find in a movie. The descriptions are marvelous, and the horror is very much apparent.
I think this could be the only book whose lamentations have made me sob.
Still, I wasn't exactly satisfied with the portion during the creature's creation and immediately after. I think there could have been more to that part of the story.
