GORE-geous, effervescent, and just plain beautiful. A perfect example of a Dark Fairytale retelling, that is original and meaningful, but stays true to original fairytale themes and darkness.
This book is now one of my favourite books ever. A book I will reread often, a book I can feel at home in and see myself in. I love how the Main Character found herself and overcame her meekness during this book. The fantasy and magical aspects were just perfection. I can’t review this and give details because I went in blind, and was fully absorbed and invested in the characters and plot.

This was one of those Poetry collections for me where there are beautiful hits, and flat misses. The poems about love and the beauty of loving another person were ethereal and gorgeous, and I thoroughly enjoyed how she described love. However, other poems just fell flat for me, particularly the poems about breakups and the ones that seemingly had no theme at all, and didn’t fit in with the rest of the collection but seemed slotted in as an afterthought.
I will be reading more of Lang Leav’s work, I think she does have a beautiful vision at times, but I would like to see work that is more edited and refined, as it was the few sparkling stars that have made me want to read more.

I really enjoyed the first half of this book, the list format worked well for me and I found the content very insightful. The list format allowed for meaningful thoughts that were easily explained and digestible. I did however find the second half of the book a touch harder to get through and quite repetitive at times. This book helped me pinpoint certain behaviours and thought patterns, to understand the meaning behind them. And this book did create some bridges for me in regards to anxiety, and the feelings of discomfort and happiness.

A Lovecraftian eldritch tale set by the water, the atmosphere is salty, chilling and gorgeous. It’s one of those books you will find yourself thinking about the world after, and wanting to step into again for a day or two.
