This is my first omegaverse book and I have to say, I went into this dubious. Not over if the story is good or the characters, but if this would be my sort of genre or thing. Do I think it is now? No, I don't think I will jump into every omegaverse book now, but I can say that I did thoroughly enjoy reading this one!
I thought the way some sensitive topics were handled in this was done so well. The characters all feel different and real and bring some diverse perspectives in comparison to the sorts of books I typically read. I also loved the way the relationships among the pack were shown and how important everyones happiness, consent, and safety was. I thought it was really special!

OHHHH my goodness. Okay.
Thank you to Del Rey for providing me an e-arc for review!
This book HOOKED ME. Right from the get go, the atmosphere and setting drew me in. I do love a viking sort of setting but do not read very much of it and clearly I need to read more of it, because I was sucked in immediately.
The plot of the story was fantastic too. Well-crafted, fast-paced, yet it never felt rushed along. We moved from event to event yet still had plenty of those small character moments where you get to know who you are on this journey with. And let me tell you, I loved these characters.
Freya is incredible. A strong-willed woman in a world where that is not necessarily what is expected, Freya never backed down and I loved that. Not only did she not back down to those trying to control her, but she didn't back down to herself either and the darker side that she harbors.
Bjorn is <3 <3 <3 beautiful, amazing, supportive, I love him. He has a complicated past that may or may not come back to bite us in the butt! But he supports Freya, teaches her to fight, and gives her the space to choose for herself rather than to just follow the path others set out for her.
THE TWIST! WHAT. I did not see that coming! I was obviously suspecting something, but to just whip it out like that at the end had my jaw on the floor!
Highly recommend this book!

Thank you to Laurel Black for a copy in exchange for an honest review!!
Okay, what a solid start to a YA fantasy series! We start by jumping right into the action. Raven is enslaved in the mines of her enemies, the Rathalans. Her memories are gone and so is her magic! But while in the mines, she meets a girl who knows her and gives her a map that fuses to her hand, the map to the Zavien stone that everyone is after.
Including Jeddak! Together, they escape and embark on an adventure that has event after event testing the pair and Kah, the best bear to ever bear.
The positives! I thought the premise was unique and well crafted. I enjoyed the world building and never felt lost while trying to follow along with what was going on. Laurel also managed to surprise me with a few twists that I was not expecting and one that I was half expecting but was wrong about the culprit. HMMMMMM!!!
I felt sometimes the budding friendship and relationship between our two main characters was a little bit rushed, though that is pretty typical for YA novels I find.
Overall, a solid start and I am curious to see what happens next.

Thank you to Netgalley and Tor for a free copy in exchange for an honest review!
Another novella that I wish was longer! I LOVED this world. We get so much world building in such a short time. I love the concept of undead assassins. Despite only being 224 pages, I felt like I was able to get to know and care about the characters, which is no easy feat to do in such few pages.
I also need to note that the writing was so enjoyable and humorous! I found myself smirking and chuckling at multiple points throughout this story.
I need more. I sincerely hope that this isn't the last we see of Eveen, Fennis, and Sky!
Highly recommend everyone picking this one up!

Listen, this was really REALLY slow to start. I did enjoy spending so much time with our characters though. I know some people thought that they "suddenly" were in love after being enemies for the majority of the book but I totally saw the slow fall, in the words they chose, their motions, it definitely wasn't sudden, it was just very very slow, you might miss it.
The last bit of the book though, DANG we ended on a cliffhanger. I need book 2! This was a great set up for the sequel!!!

I actually really enjoyed this? I don’t understand why so many people didn’t like it but that’s all good, we all have different tastes!
I am mildly obsessed with Alaric and I’m not mad about it!
I did feel the plot pacing kind of got thrown off a bit. The first was all fast paced, war time, but then the war ended quite quickly and then the rest was everything else (don’t wanna give spoilers) and things slowed down quite considerably.
Still, quite enjoyable!

I really enjoyed this! And it’s my first book of the year. I found Wren and Julian to be wonderful and I loved reading about them!
I wished that there were some more perspectives from Leo’s POV! He was so interesting and adorable.
There were a couple of moments that caught me by surprised and I actually made me drop open my mouth!
Basically I need book 2 stat
