Shadow magic but it's the LADYS MAGIC? Yes please! The Queen of Umbra was a fascinating character. She was multi-dimensional and intriguing to read about, especially when we got to read from her point of view. She has gone through a lot- my only issue is that I kind of wish we got to SEE more of that. Instead, a lot of what she went through happened in her past and we hear about it after the fact through her or others talking about it.

Theo was so cute! Young Theo, so eager, so kind! Captain Theo, a good man, protecting those who need it. He is a sweet man but I found myself slightly frustrated there AT THE END WITH HIS REFUSAL TO DO A CERTAIN THING. SIR. WHY.

I really adored Haram and Nyx. I need to see more of them. Broody grumpy Nyx makes me so happy. Plus he's an archer.

Some of the world building here confused me a bit at first. King Oren, King Asher, King Leopold, etc but I did figure that out in the end. Much of the world, though, still remains slightly confusing to me so I hope book 2 can make it all more clear.

Also.. I'm still not sure about certain peoples motivations for why they are doing certain things and I would like to know what the heck they are doing!

Also, two plot twists and a cliffhanger! How long do I gotta wait??

Anyway, fun time! I hope you all enjoy this book once it comes out!

Oh man I devoured this, I loved this. Am I now into wolfshifters and mates? Probably. Yes. Who am I kidding, thats a yes. This was so fun and I realllllly enjoyed Misery as a character, she was so great. Plot sliiiiiightly predictable? But enjoyable so I don't care!

listen, I enjoyed many parts of this book. I liked the plot. I liked the writing. I liked maybe 1/2 the characters. But the stuff that bothered me about the characters that I didn't like REALLY bothered me!!!

Mallory was so obtuse and so... head up her ass, woe is me, I can't communicate anything and will thusly just self sacrifice my entire life for my sisters and mom who...
holy hell sabrina pissed me off! says she didn't ask mallory for any of this help when she QUITE LITERALLY was harassing her over her derby fees?
the bitching about dinner towards the end really really pissed me off especially with the mom joining in? wtf? mallory might have been obnoxious to read about and to be in her head but holy hell her family sucked.

rant over. okay, I don't know how I can like a book while getting so annoyed and mad about many of the characters, but somehow I did. Still a cool plot. And Nolan was great.

i can't even. these two were so cute! and made me question everything about my life and wonder if anyone will ever say things to me like "your attention is a gift, aurora. i have no intention of not valuing the time i get with you."

I adored this! I liked that Anastasia was so feisty and was more of the grumpy in the relationship. It was a nice turn of events in my opinion!

Oh my goodness, yes. Pacing, great. Spice, great. Characters, great. I loved this one <3 I know  before I said I wanted a Chase, but now I need a Tyler, thank you very much!

I think the pacing and length of the book definitely improved from book 1 and I definitely appreciated that there was no third act break up or massive, crazy drama, which I don't usually like. So yay!
