It’s been awhile since I read a book by the author and I’m not sure why because she’s really great! There is a lot going on here, in a good way, so go in knowing very little expect it’s a solid thriller with everything I expect from one. Thanks for the rec @allysbookshoparoundthecorner
I have really enjoyed this series but this is my new fave, it was SO good! It was like a masterclass in how to write enemies to lovers and Gus and Teddy’s slow discovery of each other was beautiful and sexy. Samantha Brentmoor was flawless as always and Jason Clarke was a perfect Gus
I love a book with an author as a main character so this one landed on my TBR as soon as I saw that. I think it’s the behind the scenes insight it provides that I really enjoy and the author showcased that type of thing well here. Brick and Aspen had great and believable chemistry and this made their banter and connection so good! If you wish it was still summer this would be a great pick as it’s a summer romance with a great small town setting and wonderful secondary characters. Overall a cute and steamy read
This has such a fun premise, Callie’s sister makes an advent style calendar for her with treats and tasks to help get her more excited for the holidays after a breakup. There are so many festive happenings, constant Christmas cheer and it’s coupled with a sweet developing romance that I enjoyed. The narrator was delightful and did a great job!
Something about this time of year puts me in the mood for a multigenerational family drama and this was such a good pick for that type of book. It starts a tiny bit slow, but stick with it because it just better the more you read. It’s character driven and you really get to know the complex women in this family very well by the end, the author did an incredible job crafting them. They’re the kind of characters that leave a lasting impression and I won’t forget them anytime soon, especially Lila. There are many themes but the one that resonated the most with me was motherhood and how that can look to different people. This was compelling, at times emotional and at others funny and would be such a great book club pick as there is a ton to discuss.
I’ve never read a book by the author I haven’t enjoyed so I knew I was in for a treat when I started this one. I loved the premise here, it was unique and there were so many questions raised right from the start and I was desperate to hear the answers to them. It starts off on the slower side, the groundwork is being laid for what’s coming up but by about a quarter of the way in things start to get faster and by the end things were even faster and my head was spinning at times. There are several points of view here and I was hooked by each one, many chapters ended on a mini cliffhanger which is a great tactic to keep me furiously turning the pages. Twisty doesn’t even begin to cover the turns this took, and they were smart twists too, definitely not the kind I could predict. Another super solid read from a trusted author, if you like well developed domestic suspense this was really good.
Gah this was sooo emotional, it had a truly heartbreaking premise but sometimes I just wanna be hurt ya know? The HEA is very hard fought, Charlie and Autumn have been through it so it made the ending even sweeter than usual. At the beginning these two truly hate each other, it’s not some petty reasoning either, really dark and tragic and I was like how are these two ever gonna fall in love? I shouldn’t have worried, the author made me believe in them wholeheartedly and I loved every page of their beautiful love story. If you want a romance with angst, heart, pain but an overall feeling of hope and beauty I loved this so much.
This was so cute and has a fresh and unique quality that if oftentimes lacking in a holiday romance for me. Charlotte’s distaste for Christmas cracked me up, I loved her humor and the chemistry between her and Graham was great. Nikki Massoud is a great narrator and sounded exactly like I imagined Charlotte would
This series is so cute and exactly the type of book when I was a light and easy escapist read. I adore the vineyard setting and I’m always fascinated by the inner workings of such a huge operation. This has small town, accidental pregnancy, hockey and a second chance which was such a great combination. I really liked Trix but it took some time for me to warm up to Ren, he really did her dirty in the past but he won me over in the end. Such a fun addition to the series and the last chapter made me desperate for the next book!
This was such a fast paced and intense listen, definitely pretty dark with some descriptive scenes of death and murder, so heads up there. It’s hard to say I enjoyed it because there was so much trauma and despair, but I was hooked and had to know what would happen to Jack and his family. The narrator gave a great performance and had so much intensity in his voice.
