I’m a longtime fan of the authors books and love her brand of suspense. She always writes books that are clever and well developed and this was no exception. It actually may have been a little too well thought out for me, it was way too long and by the last quarter I was just ready for it to end. There’s a lot going on here and several points of view, I can see why the author crafted things this way but it lost me at points and I found it to be convoluted. I did like how unhinged parts of this was and I enjoyed some of the over the top reveals, so there was plenty for me to like but overall it was doing too much and too much of it felt like a slog for me.
Sometimes a book is made for audio and this was one of them! I’m sure it was great in print, but since Cameron is the star of his own audio erotica show this is a must listen. The tension between him and Hannah was off the charts and made the romance aspect so so hot! It has its sweet moments too, but good lord it was spicy. Both narrators were amazing but I can see why Hannah was addicted to Cam’s audios, Adam Gold was incredible
This is the second book in a series and I was totally fine reading it on its own. The author always delivers on the emotional front, she writes some of the best angst and longing and this was no exception. It’s a great balance of complex emotions and steam, one chapter in particular had me sweating 🥵 Both narrators were fantastic, Callie has a big personality and Stella Hunter was perfect! Stephen Dexter was Toren, I can’t imagine hearing him any other way!
This is the fourth book in a series and while it could be read on its own I say go back and read the earlier books first because they’re all SO good! This one does have some major triggers, they are listed at the beginning but take care because parts of this could be disturbing for some readers. The author did a really amazing job at handling the issues with delicacy and care too, so if you can handle some darkness this is so worth it because I absolutely adored Harlow and Waylon’s story. I’ve been super curious about the twins and was excited to learn more about Waylon and this man exceeded my expectations. Harlow is an innocent little sweetie who has been through soooo much and he treated her with so much respect and tenderness, talk about swoony. He is such a steady and dependable presence in the lives of his loved ones and there’s honestly nothing sexier for me than that. As emotional and sweet as this is it is also super spicy, the heat is high 🥵 If you like cowboy, spicy lessons, age gap, forbidden, ex girlfriends sister and fantastic mental health representation this was incredible!
I was first drawn to this one when I read one of the characters was recently released from prison and I stayed for the beautiful writing and the complex characters. While I wouldn’t say this felt like full blown literary fiction it did have that vibe, very character driven with lots of depth. All of the characters were incredibly well drawn, most of them damaged in some way which made them relatable and sympathetic. The author provided so much insight into the characters struggles leaving me totally attached to them and wishing they were real people that I could hug. Definitely an impressive debut from an author I’ll be watching in the future.
This was an absolutely perfect ending to one of my favorite series, Savvy and Hayes have my whole heart! The fact that they were childhood best friends gave them such a rich and deep history and they are so meant to be, it’s fated. Relationships based on a strong friendship are some of my favorites and theirs might have snuck in and became my number one fave. This series has been such a memorable and enjoyable ride, found family always works for me and this group of men were truly something special. As perfect as the ending to this series was I will genuinely miss this town and these characters, especially Beefcake 🥹 If you like small town series this entire thing was amazing but if you enjoy marriage of convenience, friends to lovers and forced proximity this one was so so good.
Yes it’s still October but I could not pass up this holiday novella and I’m so glad I didn’t because it was great! I read it in one sitting and enjoyed every page. It was cute but also spicy and had plenty of holiday cheer and puns. There are flirty texts between Emily and Nicholas and even some spicy role playing 🥵 this one was hot, adorable and perfect for getting you in a holiday mood.
