I love when one of my most anticipated romances lives up to the hype that I built up in my head, this one was everything!

From the synopsis: The USA Today bestselling author of The Worst Best Man is back with another hilarious rom-com about two strangers who get trapped in a lie and have to fake date their way out of it...

Read this if you like any of the following:
💞Playful banter
🌶Spicy sex
🤩Fake dating times 2
🥵A reenactment of the Pony scene in Magic Mike
💪🏻Strong family bonds between badass women
😂Genuine laugh out moments

This one was utterly charming, swoon worthy and super sexy

Well this was a tricky one, pretty clever and definitely twisty. This is a true psychological thriller, the very definition of one actually and it definitely messed with my head. I think because I was expecting it to be twisty I was able to guess the main twist, but I didn’t even care because there was something so compelling here. There were also several other smaller twists too that I didn’t totally see coming so it still kept me on my toes. You do need to be able to suspend some disbelief here, a couple of moments, especially towards the end left me scratching my head but overall this one was enjoyable and if you like messy and addictive reads then try this one!

I think I would’ve been better served to stick with the print version of this one and that’s not because the narration was bad, in fact it was excellent. But there were several couples in this one and they seemed almost interchangeable, especially at the start so I had trouble keeping them straight. Then there was no denotion when it switched between them so it was confusing. I’m sure this tactic was purposeful and it could be seen as keeping the reader on their toes but it just didn’t translate that well on audio for me. Overall this was good, not great for me a decent thriller with a solid atmosphere.

There was a LOT going with this on, a ton of characters and lots of jumping back and forth between them. I just kinda went with it though and tried not to worry too much about who was who and what their backstory was and it worked out pretty well for me. The narrator was fantastic and engaging so I definitely recommend that version, but overall while this one was fine I was a little underwhelmed.

I love when a book completely surprises me and it’s even better when a romance catches me off guard and that’s exactly what happened here. I think this is best if you go into this one knowing the bare minimum, all you really need to know is that three women who don’t know each other are all stood up on Valentine’s Day by the same man. You hear from each woman as they all have their own point of view and I really enjoyed all of their personal stories, they were all interesting in their own right and I was invested in them fully. For a rom com this is full of emotional depth and the characterization is where this really shines, although the plot itself is also really great. I think this is the authors best book yet and can highly recommend it for sure!

Have you ever heard of prosopagnosia? It’s face blindness, meaning details on someone’s face are unrecognizable. I actually have read a couple of thrillers about this but I thought the author put her own spin on it. The best part of this one for me was the setting, it was claustrophobic and isolated set mainly in an old house and I thought it was a character on it’s own. There was a great sense of underlying tension and dread from the first page to the last and enjoyed both the past and present timelines. I didn’t see the big reveal ahead of time, which is always great and thought the audio narration was excellent and engaging. Overall I enjoyed this one a bit more than the authors last book and if you like creepy books that leave you unsettled try this!
