I knew this would be sad going into it but I had no idea how emotional it would really be, things were tense and heavy from the start and it takes awhile to see some lightness but you get there eventually. It also took me a long time to warm up to Rhys but that’s because I was instantly connected to Tabitha and was overly protective of her. Again, he won me over in the end but he did make me mad 😂 I swear only this author could get me to like a pro wrestler, that’s so not usually my thing but she made it work here. If you like marriage of convenience, grief stories, a slow burn, classic Elsie banter and found family this was a great addition to a strong series.
I was so curious about what went wrong in Atticus and Nicole’s relationship after the first book and was curious how their second chance would play out because it seemed like there was a lot of pain there. I was right, they have been through some heavy stuff together and were so broken I wasn’t sure how they would ever mend fences. But this was a second chance done so incredibly well, I was rooting for them so hard and their HEA was hard fought. Angelina as Nicole was the perfect choice, there is something about her voice that has this raw vulnerability that just gets my heart. Sebastian is always fantastic as well and this was no exception. This series is great, such emotional and sexy listens!
This was such an emotional and angsty listen, it definitely got me in the feelings several times. I loved that Emily and Tristan’s relationship was a slow burn, they started off as friends and took their time before they went further and it totally made sense for their situation. Both narrators were amazing and really captured the chemistry between these two, but they also nailed the emotional component and that couldn’t have been easy as there was sooo much emotion and a few surprises. Next time you want a rockstar romance with a ton of depth try this!
This was such a haunting read and not like anything else I’ve read before. Between the atmospheric setting, the unforgettable characters and a compelling mystery this was absolutely fantastic. It starts out on the slower side but picks up in the end with some crazy intense twists and turns. The multicast narrators were all amazing and brought this emotional story to life.
I’ve read all of the authors books and this was by far my least favorite. I should’ve DNF it but I kept thinking it would get better and if anything it got worse. It actually seemed like a completely different author, even the style was a huge departure and the lack of character development as well as the lack of tension and excitement left me beyond underwhelmed. There was nothing thrilling or surprising here and the ending was a letdown too so overall a huge miss for me.
The premise of this one intrigued me, I was just as desperate as Claire was to find out what Noah’s deal was. It was pretty obvious early on where this was headed but somehow it still worked for me. I think it worked for me because the pacing was pretty fast and the narrator was super engaging, so a winning combo for a quick listen.
This is the start to a brand new series and it was such a good series starter! I was invested in Bridger and Dani immediately, they are lifelong friends so their shared history gave their blossoming relationship such a solid foundation. Dani has such a heartbreaking and tragic past, I just adored her and wanted her to find happiness so badly and Bridger was the perfect man to make her feel safe and secure. Birdie is his daughter and Dani is her teacher and their bond was adorable. There was a dash of suspense here that added some tension to an otherwise sexy and swoony story, I really love nothing more than spice and danger mixed. I have mostly listened to all of the authors books on audio and it’s always the way to go for me, she has the best narrators and this was no exception. Erin Mallon captured Dani’s emotional story so well and Sean Masters had the protective hero down pat. This was so fun, a great place to start if you’ve never read the author before
I wasn’t sure about a book with a throuple but when it’s an Elle K book I don’t even care, I’m reading it. I trust her, she’s never let me down and she somehow made a three way relationship work for me?! While this was super spicy, it was so much more than just sexy too. The characters are all so well developed and while they work so well together as a unit, their personal lives are super complicated and messy. This one is juicy and really engaging, I couldn’t wait to see how Charlotte, Will and Beck would make things work and how it would end. I mean, it can’t end pretty, right?! You’ll have to see…I’m super sad this is the last book in the trilogy but it seems like the other left things open for more books in this universe, I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Blake or the Dad Chat 🤞🏻If you like your spicy reads with an original storyline, lots of depth, humor and tender moments this was really great!
It’s been awhile since I’ve read one of the authors books and I’ve been missing out because this was great! Pepper and Clay were an adorable couple and a perfect match. He was so patient and really willing to put in the work with her and once she allowed herself to explore a relationship she was all in. This was flirty, romantic and really fun, I loved that they both had large, wild families, it def made me want to go back and read the authors other books! Both narrators were phenomenal, such soothing yet engaging performances and they remain two of my top picks!
This one has been getting rave reviews and I can see why, it’s a beautiful and heartbreaking story that crosses genres with characters that are unforgettable. Everything about this was compelling for me, the love triangle, the mystery aspect, the shifting timelines and the gorgeous writing. I’m not a big fan of literary fiction but if it was all written in this manner maybe I would be because while the writing was so strong, it was also written in a very approachable manner. Sometimes lit fic can feel overwritten but here it was simply beautiful and there were so many quotes and lines that were a sucker punch. I don’t want to get into the plot at all, just know once you start you’ll be dying to know what really happened on the farm and the results were shocking. Book clubs everywhere will be all over this one it’s excellent!
