If you like second chance romances between a bad boy AND a bad girl this was really fun. I loved both Gen and Evans’s passion and intensity and appreciated their growth throughout the book. You hear from both of them in alternating POV and the audio version was great, I especially liked Summer Morton as Gen and can highly recommend that version.

I really liked the premise here, a mother wonders if her son could possibly be a killer, could you even imagine? 😮 A parent always wants to take the side of their child but what if their side is the wrong side? What if they are capable of violence? Such interesting questions and I definitely felt compassion for Valerie as she struggled with this as well as her own memory issues. I found this to be a slow burn, there ended up being some pretty decent twists but the path to get there took quite a while for me. I think the authors previous books have been more my speed, more pacey and bingeable for sure. Overall this was enjoyable enough for me just not my fave of hers.

Ohh this may be my new favorite from the author, I really enjoyed this sexy, flirty and fun book! I was initially drawn to the winery side of the plot, I just knew it would be such a fun and beautiful setting and it definitely was. I was instantly connected to Margot as she was incredibly likable and I was into the fact that she was older than Luke. Workplace romances are always interesting and since Margot and Luke decide not to pursue a romantic relationship because she’s his boss that added a engaging dynamic. Their chemistry was undeniable and seeing them struggle to keep things professional added to their sexual tension. Lots of spice in this one, also some tender and genuine moments too, overall a really great light romance read.

Sigh. This month is not off to a great start for me with another two star thriller. @scaredstraightreads mentioned in his review that maybe his time spent reading this author is done and I think I agree with him. Which truly bums me out because I’ve really enjoyed some of her books in the past but this one just really wasn’t good. It started off ok, a kidnapping plot is nothing new but I was curious to see where it would go. But things quickly turned repetitive and then went into a twisty mess. It was a convoluted disaster that didn’t make any sense, there was pages and pages of explanation as far as why the kidnapping took place but somehow there were still giant plot holes and unanswered questions? Make it make sense. And then it just ends. Super abrupt and jarring and it made me want to throw the book across the room. That’s really all I have to say, not a fan at all.

Do you ever finish a book and think, what was the point? Because that’s exactly what happened with me here. It follows two women who are childhood best friends and it jumps from different ages in a really fast and strange way. One chapter they’re 14, the next 17 and then the next 31. You don’t spend much time at any particular age range either so I always felt like I was just getting the very tip of the iceberg in terms of who these women are. I’ve seen some reviews that say the print version is hard to follow when people are having a conversation but that wasn’t an issue with the audio version as there were two narrators so it was easy to figure out who was talking. One last thing that made this not work for me was the authors style of revealing important information. She did this weird thing where you feel like you missed something but it had to have been intentional because it was used constantly. You were basically left on your own to piece together so many pretty big events and while I get it and was able to, like just tell me already what’s with the secrecy? I don’t want to feel left in the dark as a reader. Overall this wasn’t the book for me

I know I’m posting this review super early but this was one of the best thrillers I’ve read in awhile so I wanted to make sure to get it on your radar ASAP! I’m a sucker for any storyline involving an influencer and this takes a look at the dark side of social media. More followers means more creeps, trolls and weirdos and when Alex hits a million followers on Instagram she’s thrilled. But not for long when a post of hers goes viral for all the wrong reasons and her fans turn on her in a vile way. Besides Alex you get the POV of her husband, Patrick who seems perfect on paper but….Then there’s AC who has been Alex’s assistant and godsend for months but she’s missing right when the shit hits the fan. I could not put this one down, it was so gripping and as the layers of lies and betrayals were peeled back, I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. I thought things were going to take an obvious (albeit entertaining route) but I was wrong and thrilled to be wrong! No one does domestic suspense better than KBelle, if you like tense thrillers that keep you on the edge of your seat this was SO good!
