Reading this book was like being the rope in a tug of war. 
It's short when it could have been longer to flesh things out. Seems like no one is willing to explain to the FMC what her magic is or help her figure it out (for everyone's safety-- they keep telling her how dangerous it is if she can't control it). They keep talking about how deadly the school is and like why...why must we kill all these magic users just to put her in a dangerous spot?
Also the hot and cold thing she has with the incubus and the shifter? Eyeroll.

I think if we had more story to kinda flesh it out...like maybe a hundred more pages...It would have read like a really good story instead of an AO3 story by a newbie whose hashtags are #nobetawedielikemen and #plotwhatplot
