A female mage with tricky magic summons a human man who has been fighting and pulling guard duty for the majority of his life to be her familiar. She didn't mean to, so there are hijinks afoot. There are dangers and banter and a very interesting world of magic. The story is so good and the pacing is perfect.

Cannot wait to read the next book!

I got 12% of the way in and it's giving me the ick. I do not like it and when I went to the RH subreddit to see what others had to say about it, the reviews are split. Some people like it because of the dark r*pe scenes and a lot of them hate it because of these same scenes (it was commented more than once that these r*pe scenes weren't dub-con types but straight up malicious and I just know that type of thing is not something I like at all). I'm giving up on this book and leaving it to the DARK BLACK Romance peeps.
