I DNFd at 55% because I couldn't take anymore of the white man fucking shit up for the latina with the better qualifications.
His only redeeming quality was that he cried. 
I liked the legend and the ancient legend far more than I liked the story between our two protagonists. 

The premise is intriguing and I really wanted it to be good, but the FMC is whiny and selfish AF and while I did finish it, I was really disappointed.

Blech. I literally kept hoping this would get better, but really stopped paying attention 5 minutes in. I only finished because I put it on the fastest speed and used it as background noise. 

Also it took 80% of the way before they finally kissed. And we spend most of the book in Catalina's head, which is a horrible place to be. 

I love the way the author tells the story. There's so much backstory but it is not given all in one lump sum so it's easier to digest. Plus there are so many little curve balls it's exciting to read! 

The spicy scenes were hot AF.... But tbh I wasn't actually there for the story

Benny is a himbo through and through and Helio definitely underestimated him, but this book is so fun and with just the right name drops of characters in the Vampire/Demon series. Chefs kiss! I love it
