The pain of losing someone you love is so overwhelming. It really resonated with me because I recently lost my mom and I could really feel Sally’s pain. It’s heartbreaking but at the same time it’s interesting to see how much Sally grows through it.

It’s not really summer without an Elin Hildebrand novel. This one was lovely for the most part but could’ve lost a character or plot line along the way. A little crowded.

4.5 Kept me intrigued. Told in BEFORE and AFTER the death of fellow Oxford classmate April Clarke-Clivedon. Longer than the books I’ve been reading lately, because I feel like I didn’t put this one down but I took longer to read it than I have been. Will keep you guessing till the very end.

What an absolute treat! Very Agatha Christie. Loved the setting. Loved the characters. Loved the telling from multiple perspectives. Didn’t want to put it down.

What a wild ride!! Read this one in a single sitting in a few hours! It was so twisty and constantly changing; never knowing who was coming and who was going. This was my first Sandie Jones novel but it will definitely not be my last.

David Sedaris takes a bit more of a serious turn in this group of essays with topics surrounding the pandemic, his father’s illness and death, and more on his upbringing. That isn’t to say he isn’t still funny as hell; his humorous bits are still there. However, it was powerful to read more about the tricky relationship between David and his father. A nice turn for the satirical genius.
