Honestly I really liked this book it's a simple read, one that you do for guilty pleasure.

I read this as an audio book for the car because my spotify gave me a free listen. Now I'm hooked, I liked the main characters especially how sassy the female lead was. I'm on the second book mere seconds after finishing this one. The third book comes out Jan 30 and I'm already planning that too.

If you like 2 separate story lines taking place at the same time but not together look no further! But for me I couldn't get into it I won't read the next one. Very political very slow.

Plot was weak

I liked this book as a mind numbing thing to pass the time. I felt like this book had potential, but 79% of it was just a relationship with nothing happening. Unsure if I'll continue the series later.

I did not enjoy this book. It was my first book from illumicrate so I forced myself to finish for principle sake. I found the book to be too repetitive, the mention of the prophecy happened too much. The journal entries would of been enough to infer who was who but the repetitive reveal felt redundant. I really wanted to like this but I couldn't get into it. I did enjoy the relationship with the prince and the male time travel.

I really like this series. First book was enemies to lovers. This book increases the spice. I enjoy strong female characters with cunning plans and chess like moves for kingdoms. I'll read the next one and have already put a reminder for with the next book releases later this year.

Hallmark Christmas movie, but a book

Not a 5 star book but a book you read to past the time. It was very cliche but again I read it as a guilty pleasure.

Over halfway and I had to dnf. It didn't capture me. It seemed very flat and I kept saying maybe it will get better in one more chapter. I didn't hate it, it just was slow and felt eh.

This book gave me whiplash and emotional damage to last all year. First 5 star of 2024.
