Easy to read, amusing, sometimes made me chuckle. The book feels somewhat forgetable, however.

I cannot actually write a review for the tàin. This book is more than a story. More than a work of literature. This is a relic of history, an embed of goidhelic culture. It is not for me to judge.

The many political strategies, for me personally, took away from my enjoyment of the book.

this is a really cute book that can definitely help some people. it's not very substantial, but it's good.

I started reading rather skeptically, having heard varied opinions of this book
and the first few chapters were the way I feared the book would be, but luckily things turned around when Brennan got to writing what she writes best: wonder and exploration, nature and dragons.

Make no mistake, I did love this book. The humour is appealing, the story fun and it's clear the author knows what she's talking about folklore wise.
However some things are put in as throwaway lines that I just wish would get explored in more depth, there is so much that could be extended and embraced to give this wondrous version of Glasgow more life, tie it in with the everyday culture and existence of this city.
Reading this, I felt like I was reading a story outline, rather than a full fetched book... And man I really want to read the full story
