Yeeeee Team Lazarus! Nice characters like Veramina and Charlie helped balance the evil that was Father Joshua and his wife, though as finales go, quite frankly it was underwhelming.
Lucy's personality was much more tolerable than in the previous book, but the plot was less meaningful: Earth Club took a backstage to the Masquerade and boyfriend drama. Rounder characters, though.
I loved seeing Cole's scattered thoughts in so much detail, and Isabel's reactions gave them further depth and perspective. All the authorial choices were clearly deliberate, and they worked very well to create a very romantic narrative.
My first impression was "Seriously, another vampire society book?" But the system was refreshingly unique, though I'm not sure Allie wasn't sold short (multiple times, even). Not sure I'm that interested in the sequels, though.
Phoenix - I liked it. And I also liked that Remy wasn't totally unique. It felt like the author just gave up on Asher, which was disappointing even though I adore flirtatious Gabe. Still very Twilight-y, and the lengthy explanations felt a little extraneous. Still, a satisfying conclusion to this series.
A pretty satisfying finale to the trilogy. Not sure how I felt about the Anubis/Sadie/Walt resolution; my feelings are as mixed as Sadie's here. (Of course Carter and Zia were super cute, no question there.) Oooh, and Set's ultimate role in the narrative - that I really enjoyed.
First of all: had me in shock and denial for most of the book. It took me a while to remember which September was which, since it's been a while, but it was just as easy to like Bee and identify with Lena as I did the first time.

I think making Rhine and her brother Rowan twins was unnecessary - it didn't really add anything to the plot or their relationship. Overall, I wasn't a huge fan of Rhine. Cecily was annoying but kind of relatable; Lindon was a sweetheart with fair intentions but horribly ignorant. I might finish the trilogy; the book was decent.
