Cute and sweet, with a lovely takeaway message. The mystery/clues were well-paced, and the twists were actual twists.

I didn't see the Gerry/Lewis snafu coming, so that was pretty interesting. This Bodee was different from the one I loved in Faking Normal, though that makes sense given the timeline. A poignantly simple but touching story.

Her naivete was realistic, but its persistence to the end was less so (and honestly, kind of annoying). She was one of those goody-goody types that the world chews up and spits right back out; she never seemed to learn from her experiences, and that made it hard to sympathize.

Didn't quite live up to the promise of the premise, imo. Alex and Xander was a pretty cute pairing, but Thea's propensity for tall tales became more immature and annoying than endearing. There didn't seem to be much real plot or resolution.

A few phrasings that I didn't really like, but the literary elements were great (tricolons!). I also really appreciated how mild/subtle the romance was, and
SpoilerLuke's betrayal
was a well-played twist.

I don't know, it felt more like a first draft than a polished novel. The POV choices weren't as effective as they could've been, nor were the red herrings. If I'm being honest, this is mostly rated an extra star because it wasn't so bad that I gave up partway through.

I didn't expect the supernatural element to be strong as it was, so I had a bit of cognitive dissonance while getting acclimated. But the love rectangle actually worked pretty well, and overall I enjoyed the story.

WAY too preachy, especially the attempt to paint the world - particularly abortion and religion - in black and white, ineffectively in my opinion.

Maybe it's a demographic issue, but I thought the themes were a little too superficial for my taste, and I also felt like their "friendships" were stretched a little too thin to be really natural/believable.

I've never been a huge fan of supernatural stories in general, particularly when the author stretches disbelief by trying to keep it "realistic" rather than embracing fantasy, but this one was pretty well done. Not sure I'd really categorize this as a "ghostly romance"; I loved the characters, but the plot didn't quite live up to my hopes.
