The topic is inherently pretty dry, but the anecdotes help keep it interesting. Lots of food for thought.

Quite well-written; the supernatural elements were fully incorporated without being too "out there." Wonderfully realistic character relationships, all dynamic characters with fascinating backstories and hidden depths.
Georgia was a headstrong, too-big-for-her-britches caricature of a tomboy. The themes might be lost on what seems to be the target audience (kids, tweens) while the writing might not appeal to older readers, and the ending was illogical.
Okay, I literally fell asleep reading this book, which is honestly saying something because that's only ever happened with assigned reading before. The love interests were boring, the MC annoying and honestly pretty useless, the plot repetitive.
The "Miss Fitt"/misfit pun might have been funnier if it wasn't mentioned too many times in too few pages. The was predictable, and Jie's character was honestly culturally/ethnically inaccurate, even offensive.

Necromancer twist
Pretty good for a sci-fi YA romance. Interesting thoughts on Fate and the time paradox. But the was predictable, and I wasn't a huge fan of .

Ryan's "screw the consequences" decision
I felt distanced from Damon as a character; it was both his speech and attitude. I guess Emily was okay, but not a very strong protagonista. And their relationship actually felt like it cheapened the plot.
Cliches and tropes galore: secluded scientific research island, now-hot childhood friend, evil mother, love triangle, secret twin sister. Only redeeming point was Nicky the psychopath.
