Another awesome one by Dessen. I loved the length and pacing; Eli's dreamy but not a pushover, prep, or total badass-type, or totally-broken tragic figure; the girls are memorable; even Auden's pushy tiger mom is redeemed. Perfect ending, ambiguous as to what may be.
I really loved that it ultimately came down to Clary and Sebastian, demonstrating how perfect the cover art is. Epic conclusion to an epic series. Soooo many feels.
The emotions were believable, if perplexing to me. Great insight into denial, mother-child relationships, the juvenile justice system, and conscience. Loved the legal aspects (definitely appealed to my inner future-lawyer) and I think I can understand the relief Devon found in deciding to make the plea she did.
I read this book so many times as a kid after picking it up on a whim, and it never lost its appeal over the years. A solid tale of girl friendship and teamwork and empowerment.
I think I somehow mentally conflated this with V for Vendetta ... solely based on their titles, because I know nothing about either of them. BUT NO LONGER.
