I remember being really interested in this series, and in fact I still remember a few scenes and lines from the first few books.

To be quite honest, this one really made me wish I had given up on rereading/finishing this series so that I could think back on it fondly rather than stewing in disappointment and exasperation. It's consistent with the rest of the series, in all fairness, but that just means it frustrated me in all the same ways as the preceding books ... but worse because it's the last of the series.
