Too many endings, also someone named Sharkey???
After page 1349, the rest of the book is just appendices... in all honesty, I didn't read any of them

Carrie Fisher is very funny and this memoir is about Star wars-related events in her life. Perfect, I thought.
It was all very intriguing, but the reason I gave it a lower rating was simply because it felt so messy. Shed be describing an event and within that one story there'd be 2 or 3 tangents so I kept forgetting the actual story she was telling until she got back to it 10 pages later...

This book is not bad. But it wasn't the book it told me it would be.
On my copy, the little "summary" on the back of the book said it was about a man who was writing little notes that were anti-Hitler and defying his regime. If you've read the plot summary here on Goodreads, it's a little different.
So I was disappointed when it took 1/3 of the book for Otto and Anna to start their rebellion and write that first note. AND THEN the second part is from the perspective of the Nazi officer who is trying to capture them, and about 2 petty criminals who are about the two most useless people I've ever encountered in a book. I have no idea what purpose those 2 men served in the story. The last part is also disappointing because it starts with Otto sending the last letter and GETTING CAUGHT and then it's just about him being in prison before being executed.
This is supposed to be a thriller but all the thrilling parts are not in the pages of this book, but happens between each part.

I didn't really know what to expect from this, but I was determined to read at least the first novel before starting the tv series. After finishing, I will most likely not read the sequels or watch the show.
What I really liked was that the writing was engaging, simplistic and very visual. The fact that Gabaldon decided to actually ~write~ the Scottish accent was kind of a miss for me, cause it honestly just reminded me of Hagrid who I don't personally think of as sexy (to each their own tho)
My main problems are mostly matters of personal preference. I guess you could question whether consent was always given, and also the scene that Jamie describes during the last 150 pages were simply torture-porn/torture-rape which I'm not interested in. There is also a certain pattern to the story, and I just felt the author needed to make every single event bigger than the last in order for it to be interesting.
All in all, I liked Claire and Jamie's relationship, and I also LOVED Jamie's family, but other than that, it was just fine.

From the middle till the end, this was great. I did struggle with the language quite a bit, but it got easier as I went along.

I finally rated a Neil Gaiman book more than 3 stars! This was honestly just delightful 💕 I'll write a more detailed review as soon as I can
