Ain't I a Woman: Black Women and Feminism

Though a classic and a "must-read" on the important issue of intersectional feminism and the black women's foundational role in its movement, I felt it started going in circles and repeated itself constantly to the point where I got lost. There was also the challenge of the audio from Libby being damaged - it kept jumping between segments. After finishing a third of the book, I started taking longer breaks between each chapter to help the content stand out more, which helped.

I've loved this series and was so anxious to read the last book. The themes are so well-woven into Essun's story.
This book became a bit too jargon-filled that I sometimes had a hard time following the audiobook, especially in Hoa's past timeline.

There is also the feeling that they could've easily gives us 100 pages more to really give Essun and Nassun more time together before the ending, it all happened too fast for me considering we've been following Essun's journey for so long

I liked the second third of the book, but after that it felt quite repetitive. I'm new to self-help books and literature on this topic, and whenever it got interesting or I felt she nailed an observation, it immediately continued on to something else.

The personal stories were sometimes really helpful, but it was just so many and they were so "shallowly" described, it seemed as if they were included just because they confirmed what had already been discussed.
