So, okay. It took me longer than I expected, but it wasn't because the book was bad. I actually think it's one of the best queer books without fantasy setting that I've read this year so far.

First of all, Georgia. I relate to her so much. She has stage fright, just a small group of friends, doesn't like parties, reads fanfics. I loved her character and how she felt about various things through the story. She was really a fantastic character to read.
And of course, her friends. Jason and Sunil are precious and I would fight Lloyd for my favourite Pride Soc president. And Rooney and Pip. Oh, boy. The miscommunication that I usually don't mind made me feel a little bit frustrated. Like, kiss already! So happy they did in the end <3
Also a special mention for Ellis Warr because she's awesome and I love her so much.

Rozhodně jedna z nejlepších knih, které jsem letos četla. I když jsou jména v češtině trochu horší na čtení (jde o zvyk), nic vyloženě špatného na téhle krásné modré knížce nenajdete.

Even if I knew every language in the world, I wouldn't be able to express how I felt about this wonderful book. The way it's written is beyond this universe and I just loved every page, every sentence, every word of this story. Elizabeth Acevedo's writing style is one of my favourites and I really want to read every book she releases in the future.

Celou svou duši jsem dobrovolně dala téhle knize a všem jejím adaptacím, protože je to prostě tak moc boží. Co bych dělala, kdo bych byla, kdyby jsem neměla MDZS na mozku 24/7? Netuším.

Prostě tohle *emocionálně gestikuluje neurčitým směrem* z hloubky svého srdce miluju.

I kdyby se tam nic moc nedělo, tak by to bylo skvělé, protože ty postavy jsou dokonalé. Ale tady je i fantastický děj a to je prostě...

looking back at this book, it's not something i would like to reread. yes, the language is poetic and sometimes the sentences are very beautifully written, but it's to the point when i don't get their meaning until i read them three times. the synopsis was interesting, the concept as well, but nothing is really happening and the twist falls flat. the characters aren't bad, but i still couldn't connect with them. one of the worst reads of 2020.

5 stars for this masterpiece! really wish i could give it more, tbh. it's so great <3
