Good then odd then good is the best way I can sum up this book.
I hadn’t heard about this book until right around the time it came out and it was getting absolutely phenomenal reviews. The description had me desperate to read it, a historical mystery thriller is just my kind of book!
I thought the book started out really good, the introduction of the characters and the setting was the perfect amount of frivolity mixed with the slightly creepy that starts to seep in.
Then the book took a turn for the odd ... not necessarily odd in a bad way, it was just very unexpected for me. It threw me off guard as that part of the story was being developed and took me a chapter or two to accept the slight change in what I was expecting.
But then I thought the book ended in a very thrilling way that totally made up for me being thrown off!
All in all I definitely recommend this one! It was a unique story and an entertaining read!

4.5/5 rounded down
Thanks so much to Penguin Teen for sending me an ARC in exchange for a review!
I don’t know why but I love books that take place in prep schools and boarding schools so this one was perfect for me. I loved the idea of The Players and the whole story woven around them as a major part of the school culture.
I did think the writing could be a bit juvenile at times (then again, this was an unedited copy) and that took away from the story at times.
I was able to figure out who did it but it took me until the last 80 pages or so to start connecting the dots and putting the whole story together.
All in all, I thought this was an entertaining and enjoyable read. Some triggers for phobias, sexual assault, so please be aware!

4.5/5 stars!
I absolutely loved this book! It had me hooked from the very beginning, wondering how the two stories are going to tie into each other by the end. I did not want to put this book down so I could find out how it all ended!

Not my favorite collection of short stories by Agatha Christie... I thought some of them were very good and some of them were a little odd, some had no real meaning to me and some I couldn’t really figure out what was going on.
Miss Marple short stories are still my favorites I think.

Another masterpiece from Kerri Maniscalco!
She once again managed to create a world to get lost in, with its old Sicilian setting and characters you can’t help but get wrapped up in.
I loved every moment of this page turner, there wasn’t a dull moment from the start of the book to the end. I cannot wait to see what is in store for book 2 in this series!

This book reminded me a lot of The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley. Not totally the same but there were definitely similar elements to both stories.
That being said, I really enjoyed this one by Ruth Ware! I feel like her writing and stories have been getting better and better the more she writes.
Can’t wait to see what she comes out with next!

Absolutely loved this one!
It definitely lived up to all the hype around it and I already cannot wait to get my hands on the second book!
The characters were fantastic, I loved that it was set at sea and in port cities for the most part. It was such an adventure and I can’t wait to see where Fable’s next adventure takes her!

I definitely don’t think this one was as good as the first book ... I think it’s because I didn’t like Ify as much as the main character of this one.
The story started out slower and didn’t pick up until about halfway through for me. It did get really exciting though at points which is why it earned 4 stars.
All in all, not as exciting as the first but definitely more of a thinking book. It makes you think about how people are perceived, how unjust things are in the world, and how hard it can be to move on from the hurts of the past.
