Really enjoyed this one!
It was a fast paced read with an interesting cast of characters! It started off a little slow, not much hinting at the murder that the story was about but it really started picking up about halfway through and then I could not put it down!

A mystery that would keep Agatha Christie guessing until the very end!
I absolutely loved everything about this book. The plot was so original, with the main character waking up every day as someone new to try to solve a murder. The writing was great giving you just enough detail to try to piece it together but also just enough details to make you forget certain things because you’re not the one living the day over and over. And then the major plot twist at the end .... I didn’t see that coming at all and it was brilliant!
I cannot wait to see what this author comes up with next!

This was a solid ending to a very good duology. I don’t want to give anything away about the story but I will say that you can tell Evelyn Skye’s writing has evolved immensely from her first duology to this one.
I thought the characters were better developed, the writing was much better, and the story telling in general had improved.
I thought this series was exciting and entertaining to read and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

This definitely wasn’t her best book but I still found it to be an intriguing read!

Absolutely loved this one!
I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about the characters at first but they ended up growing on me! I loved the magic system in this book and the world created around it.
I’m really looking forward to picking up the next book!

Definitely one of the best books in the series.
The Triwizard Tournament is so much fun to read about and it allows the addition of some pretty great characters!
I cannot wait for the illustrated edition of this book to come out!

3.5/5 stars
This book would have been so much better if it had been 200-300 pages shorter.
I feel like she was trying to make this a Game of Thrones esq book and it fee woefully short. There were whole chapters that were totally irrelevant to the overall story. I didn’t think one of the characters added much to the story at all. You’d have really exciting chapters followed but really boring ones ...
I just didn’t think it was structured well.

This book was a wild ride!
I could not put this book down, I just constantly had to know what was going to happen next to Mara. Not only was Mara having a difficult time figuring out what was real and what wasn’t, I was having a hard time figuring out when she was lucid and when she wasn’t. Like I said, it was a wild ride.
The ending was totally crazy too and has me wanting to read the second book ASAP!

PSA: This book contains sexual assault and some gross/gory/disturbing descriptions

This book was not at all what I was expecting when I first picked it up. Right off the bat there were some scenes that made me cringe while reading them and I could tell something was off about the character James right away.
I kept having to remind myself that the story took place in the 90s and that, even then, southern lifestyles were different. I thought a lot of the characters were way too trusting (small town southern living doesn’t make sense to me in that way) because I’ve always been taught to be weary of new people.
Once I started reading this though I didn’t want to put it down. It kept me on my toes as I was reading, always wondering what bizarre thing was going to happen next.
I’ve never read anything by this author before but I’d consider picking something of his up in the future

I absolutely loved the first book in this series so I was insanely excited to read this book!
It was not quite as good as the first one but it was still a very good read!
The characters were just as wonderful in this book as the first and I enjoyed where the story took them.
