Such a twisted story!
When the book started I definitely did not see this book ending the way it did! But I thoroughly enjoyed it and was super surprised to see it take the turn it did.

Definitely not one of my favorites but this had a certain quality to it that made it a very wholesome book. It was a sad, almost tragic, story about two best friends who drifted apart just as their lives were beginning. Years later they are reunited under a guise that leads to a secret that had been kept too long.
It was sweet and sad but it’s not something I would consider cute and fun. It was really heart wrenching at times and it was definitely worth the read.

This definitely was not what I thought it was going to be.
I really enjoyed reading the chapters from Nikolai and Zoya’s perspectives. Nikolai is witty and funny and so incredibly intelligent. There is never a dull moment with him. And Zoya is a fierce and dominating presence. The two of them together definitely helped make the book a fun read.
Nina’s chapters on the other hand .... I couldn’t stand them through the first half of the book. I thought she seemed weaker than she ever was and it was hard to read about her pining. She did get better as the book went on though and I’m hoping book 2 is better for it.
All in all, I really enjoyed the book. The ending definitely made it and I cannot wait to find out what is going to happen next!

Loved this series so much!
Tricia Levenseller did an amazing job writing a bad ass story about a bad ass female pirate! I loved every second of this series because it is exactly what you would expect from a pirate series. There’s fighting and plundering and sneaking about. Everything about it was amazing!
I loved all the main characters and how badass they were. I loved that she didn’t feel the need to hold back the violence just because the crew was a bunch of women. It made the book so much better!
I literally gasped at one point I was so shocked.
Absolutely phenomenal series, I highly recommend it!

WWI, WWII, and female spies .... what isn’t there to love?
WWII just ended and Charlie has gotten herself into a spot of trouble. Finding herself in the family way as an unmarried college girl will not do and her mother whisks her away to take care of the problem. But as soon as they step foot on European soil Charlie runs off to find her cousin who went missing during the war. Her search leads her to the home of one Evelyn Gardiner, a miserable old drunk, and her only hope.
Eve has always been underestimated due to her stutter. But it’s 1914 and there’s a war on and spies are needed to gather information against the Germans, even women.
At first I wasn’t sure what to make of Charlie as a character. She seemed like a bit of an idiot but as the story went on and you learned more about her you couldn’t help but become fond of her. It’s very similar for Eve. At first she seemed like a cranky old drunk and it was hard to find sympathy for her. But as the story went on and you learned about what she did during the first war you can’t hell but admire her.
The story is woven brilliantly going back and forth between WWI and the post WWII worlds. You read about the hardships faced during and after the wars and it was beautifully written. Kate Quinn definitely has a knack for historical fiction and I cannot wait to read more by her!

Not my favorite Patterson book but definitely not the worst I’ve read.
You could tell his co-author wasn’t one of the usual suspects as the style was totally different. Parts of it seemed to drag on a little but as a whole it was a really entertaining story. I’d read another book by him and Clinton.

Its not my favorite Kate Morton book but it was still very good. I’m parts of the book we’re a little drawn out but overall the story flowed very well. I liked how it bounced back and forth between a few different time periods so all the characters stories could be told. I was able to guess the ending more or less but that doesn’t bother me with these books because I couldn’t guess every little detail.
All in all it was a good book and I’m looking forward to reading more of her books in the future!

Definitely one of the better Patterson books I’ve read! I thought it was slight creepy and definitely disgusting at times and there was plenty of suspense. I didn’t see the ending something which is a new accomplishment for a Patterson book because I feel like the endings are usually pretty obvious.
