This book was totally not what I was expecting it to be but I absolutely loved it!
The characters were not what I was expecting. I thought they would be cruel and malicious and they were the exact opposite. The characters around them were cunning and cruel. The gifts were incredibly interesting to read about along with the whole Beltane celebration and the Ascension Year. I’m really looking forward to picking up the second book!

The ending definitely made up for a lot of what I thought the beginning of the book was missing. Jude wasn’t my favorite character from the get go. She was angry and impulsive and, in the lands of the fairies, not very cunning. The world itself sounded amazing and the plot was relatively unique and was quite good.
I think the book was overhyped for me. I was expecting something incredible and wonderful and dark and it was kinda in the middle. I did think it was a good book but it wasn’t anything overly special for me.
I’m definitely looking forward to finding out what happens next though. I very much enjoyed the ending to this one. It managed to fool me into thinking one way because I was so caught up in all the planning and plotting. I’m curious to see how it all plays out.

Loved this book! I thought it was a great continuation of the series and I look forward to reading the next installment. I liked the addition of Thalia as a main character. I thought she added a new dynamic. I also like the inclusion of more of the gods in this book. It was cool to have them described. All around good book and series.
4.5/5 stars!
This one started out slower than the last book but definitely got good towards the end! The storyline was a lot different from the last book which was nice but I did like the last book because of the unique storyline. This storyline was still unique but was borderline mainstream in a lot of its elements. I’m curious to see what else can come of this series though.
I really hope this isn’t the end of these books.

YA is definitely not something I read much of. I think as I’m getting older I find it harder to connect sometimes.
I found Lara Jean to be a bit naive and over romantic. That was going to happen no matter what though because she’s such a different personality than me. She did grow on me as the book went on though. I could not stand her sister Margot. I thought she was very self centered and very mean and judgey about things she had no business being mean about.
I liked Peter though and I wish Lara Jean had been easier on him.
Overall, I plan on reading book 2.

I love these books but they are too freaking long. I’d rather have 15 books that are half the length than 8 books that are 800-1500 pages.
That being said, I thought this was one of the better books in the series. This book reminded me why I enjoyed the series to begin with when I started to lose faith after the previous few. Those were long and arduous affairs to read with little action at times. This book took the opposite approach, probably because we finally got to the Revolution, but there was more action and adventure interspersed throughout rather than it being lumped together between hundreds of pages of mundane. This one definitely ended with a bang as well which means I will probably try to read the last book sooner rather than later!

I never know what to write in these reviews. I just love these books so much, they never seem to get old. No matter how many times I read them there's always parts that make me laugh and make me gasp and make me cry.
This started off sooooooo weird. But it ended up being a creepy little short story that was quite enjoyable!
I’m still thrown by that ending no matter how much I think about it. So curious to see how they tie the whole thing together in the next movie ....
