Solidly surrealist. If life doesn't make any sense, read a book that doesn't either. This one does vaguely hang together around the edges, unlike the rest of the series. But the point isn't to be coherent, so it doesn't matter in the least. Just sit back and enjoy.
Solid world building of cowboys in space. Love it. I found the romance between the two women to be really very clearly written by a man, and the captain too waaaay too long to believe things when they were clearly true. But on the whole this was a fun read.
Very solid fantasy set in space. The world building isn't much, but the political intrigue is well done. I couldn't put it down, this book is very well paced.
Perfect and sweet, fairly predictable but in a comforting way, while also ringing absolutely true. Complex characters with real depth and emotionally tender relationships. A surprisingly gentle read, given the content.
Cute, not much substance and a bit of an annoying ending. But cute.
Love the combination of science and magic, uneasily coexisting. Plus, so many pig puns!
This audiobook is the book Living Nonviolent Communication, by the same author, distilled into 4 lectures. The first book blew my mind when I read it a few years ago, completely changing my parenting and teaching and how I relate to other humans in general. This seemted as a handy reminder of those values and strategies, for me. I think it would also serve as a good introduction, for others who have not yet encountered Marshall Rosenberg's work.
