funny informative lighthearted medium-paced

Very silly, elevated by explanations of the different forms used in the back matter.

The story idea has great potential, but the writing is wooden and i can't get emotionally invested.

Very fun, and well done. But I wish it had an ending.

Teddy is tired all day, which annoys his little human. But at night, Teddy chases away all the monsters! Scribbly stylized drawings

This is a problematic book, which is very disappointing coming from an author who has done so much great and nuanced work. To name really only a few of the issues
- Being stealth isn't a silly thing old people do because they're scaredy cats, it is something many had to, and still have to, do to maintain their safety. To say otherwise diminishes very real trauma and active danger.
- "A femme" is not a stand-alone term, or at least not anymore, it modifies other things....those words don't work the way Lukoff seems to think they do. I wish he'd consulted any queer women in writing this book.
- Seattle isn't gay utopia
- You are very unlikely to all of a sudden like someone enough to start dating them when they come out, if you didn't like them before. Maybe consider being nice to people, not just "be nice cause they might be trans."
- General lack of nuance, EVERYWHERE.

The series is really coming into itself, and the books are getting better, instead of having a dropoff in quality like so many do. I'm impressed!

a very strange take on a strange folktale. But mostly, too wordy.

dark little tale. More for adults who remember enjoying His Dark Materials than for children.

Solid post-apocalypse story, but I don't think it was well suited to the graphic novel format. Pages were very wordy.

informative reflective

Well done and simple story about the turning of the seasons, and self reflection.
