Kid is so over the monsters they can see. Ok, I can get behind it though it's a little tired. But then before the end of the second chapter we've gotten the crush who is clearly going to be taken by the monsters AND the teacher deadnaming. Nope, I'm outs.
Graphic: Deadnaming
i get the gist, dont need the rest
I do want ot come back to this, I just have to triage my pile and this one takes remembering what happened in the last one.
didn't grab me, too descriptive and too many descriptions of being embarrassed without any more complex emotions.
I can't keep track of what's happening, and also can't find it in me to care. I've been reading long enough that I feel I should care by now.
All chargers are rather flat, and all I know of the violin is that he's hot. It's good, but it's not enough.
The writing is a bit stilted, and I don't love the main character. Just didn't grip me enough to continue.
reads too much like we're gonna have a rape scene, and I'm not gonna stick around and wait for it to happen.
It's hard to exactly pinpoint it, but this book is just a lot less engaging than its predecessor.
