Gorgeous illustrations, and a very good blend of suspense with gentle safety at the end of each tale. More of a reference book than a storybook. 

Quite well done! A cozy mystery in space, complete with questions of what is the self and also knitting

Great analogy, feels like mythology. A little sparse on the whole, we're left ot fill out the gaps, but I'm ok with that. 

Nothing new, but what's here is done well. Very hero's quest. 

I found this book to be a bit uneven. Some of it is written brilliantly, some of it is choppy, slow when it should be quicker and quick when we could stand some slowing down. The concept of the Immortal Soul is a good one, very Buddhist in vibe if not in actual truth. I don't love the ending though.  

So important. I wish it was more accessible to a younger audience, but what is here is lovely. 

I want to love this book, but I don't love the way brave is equated with not crying, and the masculinity equated with the hiding of one's feelings. Still, it's not all bad and there are few picture books directly addressing native hair and so I do think it's still an important story to have on the shelf. 

Gotta love a good analysis of categories.

So cute and funny, and somehow a new take on being true to oneself.
