I Love the makeup looks in this book. It is so fun to look at and the plastic overlays show you how to do the makeup in the pictures. Really amazing!

I read this years ago when I was living in NYC, at the urging of one of my lesbian girl friends. Really good book. I love the author's style of writing.

This book is an interesting read. The author is such a good writer, it’s almost like reading prose… the story was hard to follow but I enjoyed snippets of wisdom in certain parts.

Damn this book was dark, and dirty, and graphic! I read it on my lunch breaks at work and let me say, it is not good lunch reading. However, it was a good book... just let me advise you not to read it on your lunch break. Way too graphic - fighting, lots of drugs and quite graphic group sex... good book though!

This book was well written and depressing! But that's reality I suppose. It's about a young girl growing up in South Carolina, it's about relationships between men and women, and it's about motherly love (or lack thereof). Real good read, but be prepared to be a little depressed after you finish...

I really loved this book – Junot has a way of mixing English with Spanglish and I don’t speak/read/understand Spanish but its still understandable and after living in Washington Heights and being around tons of Dominicans I can totally pick up on the dialect and slang. I love his style of writing – it’s so real and personal. Anyway, the book was excellent and almost had me crying at the end. Such a good book, highly recommended.

I absolutely loved the weird, quirky stories in this book. LOVE!

Is it possible to feel betrayed by one's favorite author? If so, I felt deliciously betrayed! This book is like none of Auster's previous work and it is deliciously devious. Must read. His best work yet, I dare say! I can not wait to go back and re-read it.
