I read this book in two work days, meaning I read it on BART and my lunch break. It was well written just like everything else I've read by Ian McEwan, and it was deliciously creepy and disturbing, again, typical of the author. Great book, highly recommended to those that can stomach disturbing dark material :)

As Paul Auster gets older, he writes about aging. This is a beautiful book written with interwoven stories, mystery and reality... highly recommended. I love Paul Auster!

Really interesting look at the expectations of women from back in the day. I think probably the 50's or something, I don't remember the book ever mentioning the year. Anyway, very interesting look at societal expectations of women and the effect those expectations had on the main character. Really good book.

I do not like Alice Mattison's writing style. It is rather choppy and she really didn't give any reason to want to give two shits about her characters. It took me a very long time to actually CARE about her characters, nearly until the end of the book. That's bad writing if you ask me. Anyway, the book ended up being ok. It was a study of women and their friendships with each other. It was ok, I don't know if I would recommend it to others, but I am glad I finished it. I am not sure I'd read any of her other work just because her writing style really isn't that great to me.

Some really great science articles in here - a lot about psychiatrists' med prescribing practices, which was wasn't surprising, but rather disgusting. Really good stuff in this one! :)

Michael Ondaatje is one of my favorite authors. When I saw this (new-ish) book on the shelves at the bookstore last month I was excited and this book did not let me down. It was excellently written and I had problems tearing myself away. The ending was good but a bit disappointing as I felt it left us hanging a bit. But, that type of ending makes you use your imagination, which is always a good thing :)

I loved this book! Toni Morrison is one of my favorite authors and this book did not let me down. It was wonderful. Really good read! Unfortunately I read so fast that I sped right thru it... but I think I'll read it again sometime and really savor every word :)

Eh, the book was probably written for a young adult audience. It was ok. Probably would have liked the movie better. Book was too pedantic for my tastes.
