Fun holiday read, and a series I really enjoy. Always a pleasure to be back among Jill and her friends, and the plot was fun (if a little easy.)

I have to say, though:
SpoilerWho the hell is dumb enough to mistake a baby's cry for a stray cat?

3.5 stars. I liked it, and although I'm not a fan of crossovers, at least the pet psychic fit into the story. Also a quick mention of the ren faire people. Overall, it was a great plot (although not to difficult to figure out) and nice to see other story lines moving along, too. Great addition to a great series.

I can honestly say, if this was the first book in the series, I wouldn't have picked up the second one. Predictable, transparent and unsatisfying. Tempe is long on book smarts but short on street smarts - and common sense.
SpoilerCould you please delight everyone at a dinner party about the gory details of the murder you're working? Working a criminal case? Please, answer all of the questions the nosy reporter asks you about it. Working with a task force that requires secrecy? Please, tell you nephew the aspiring biker all about it. 3/4 of this book had me asking What. The. F**k. Is. Wrong. With. You?

And just why the hell do they keep calling in an anthropologist to fresh crime scenes?

Better than the last one, still a little melodramatic. As with the other books, this is in serious need of editing. Too much inner dialogue summing up the events over and over, too much moooning over the men in her life, a little too much detail on everything. You could cut out about a third of the book in the middle and not miss it.

I enjoy the series and will stay with it but with each book I find myself skimming more and more.

For the first in a series, it wasn't bad. The characters were cute and charming, the location was beautiful and although the plot was a stretch at times, it was fun with lots of twists and turns.

This charming little series has me hooked. Aunt Bessie and her friends are enjoyable, great locale, and the plot had a lot of twists and turns. Can't wait for the next!

Great premise, but I just couldn't get into it.

Good, compelling read, although felt a little stretched out at the end. The back story put me off a bit at first, I checked several times to make sure I hadn't missed a previous book. Overall, really enjoyed it.

Another entry in a cute series. I love that you can curl up and read this in an afternoon, and the characters are adorable. The only criticism I have is that the main mystery wasn't solved very well. It wasn't until after I finished it that it occurred to me that with all the excitement at the end of the book, the resolution to the murder was buried. But still a fun, enjoyable series.

I love this cute short story series. It has great locales, the characters are cute and the plots have a lot of twists and turns packed into such a few pages. Really great for an afternoon read.
