I liked this one best so far, the plot moved quickly had a lot of twists and turns. Fast, concise and no flirting with guys in uniform. Just a quick, intricate mystery.
There are some books that start out with a cute concept, charming characters and captivating plots that keep you turning pages until the end.
This book, I'm sorry to say, isn't one of them.

Really enjoy this series, set in WWI England. This time around, Marmion and Keedy were searching for the murderer of a conscious objector. The only criticism I had is that it seemed like there was a lot of filler designed to be red herrings, but it bogged the story down. The ending felt a little rushed because of it. Although it was said throughout that the murder was calculated, the resolution didn't feel that way.
Overall, an enjoyable read, but not as good as it could've been.

Good, but too much going on and the ending felt a little Hollywood blockbuster. Also have to wonder about the quality of Scottish orthopedic doctors if someone still has her arm in a cast 8 month after it got broken.
Good, but an ordeal to finish. After awhile it seemed like the gore was inserted to make the book longer, but it didn't necessarily make it better.
I had just about given up on this series, but I thought I'd give this one a chance. Glad I did, really great plot, no Gilly hysterics and a pace that kept me turning pages. I'd say this one ranks up there with the first in this series in humor, suspense and mystery.
