More like a paranormal suspense with some smut mixed in. 2.5 for the small plot twist that actually surprised me. Other than that, the smut plot wasn’t enough to keep me interested and made both main characters dry. This book could have been so much more, but fell short.

4.5 Stars. This book had me belly laughing and cringing at different points. Cute realistic moments kept the story going.

Should have been a 3.5 star rating but I do know this Sanderson’s first novel (or one of) and the writing is not as great as his later works. What pushed it to a 4 was how the story wrapped up and the world building. The pace was a little slow and all of the political lost me here and there. Overall, I’m happy I finally read it.

2.5 is a hard rating for one of my favorite author duo. I did not like the style in which the main characters communicated, specifically because it was a short story. Makes me wonder what it could have been if it weren’t a short story and if it would have bugged me.

4.5 short story that I wish was more. I could not get enough of this story and wished it were longer. The characters were perfect for the sweet little romance. I enjoyed the funny moments and the hard moments. Sometimes when life is hard, looking for the smallest gestures or interactions and find joy.

4 star belly chuckle review. I absolutely adored the unrealistic romance that had me chuckling the whole way through. I think the story would have been even better if it didn’t have to have a rushed ending. I would read it again if it were made into a full story.

3 stars for a repetitive story with some cute differences. While they mention the movie in the story, there are a lot of similarities that make me not earn for a longer version. This may be because I recently watched the movie with one of my daughters, or because it just wasn’t interesting enough to make me want to read hundreds of pages. It was well written, an author, I would explore, and cute in its own way.

3 stars for acute but unrealistic plot. There will always be times when people hide a part of who they are to make a new relationship work. But two Royals coming together, doing the same exact thing just seemed a little more fetch to make the story cutecute enough for me to want a longer version. writing style was good and grabbed my interest in wanting to read more from this author.
