This was more a 3.5 but super cute story dealing with some real life things. While reading the story, I was constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop. I’m not usually a fan of stories that make me feel that way but this one had a good storyline that keep me reading. For such a short book, 2 and half days of reading is super long for me; however, it is smack in the middle of a busy holiday.

Luca’s character had me interested from the start. I know someone with a very similar fear so I could relate as someone trying to connect. I would have like to see her become stronger sooner, even though taking the trip out to California to see Griff was brave. The one downside of her character, I didn’t like that she stated herself pretty shit off towards pleasure with someone but had no problem jumping right into pleasuring moments.

Griff has me with his sense of humor. Even though they spoke for many years as kids, I thought it jumped into sex talk way to soon for the type of connections they rekindled. But, once Griff’s love shunned through for her, you could really see it was more than just sex.

Not a book I would reread but one I continue a storyline if there was a second book. Would love to know how she is as a mother.

I know a lot of people are not a fan of this book but this was a solid 4 for me.

There are so many times in life we have to fake it to make it and this book lives that out loud. Being a strong female worker in a male dominated place, Emmie has to do what it takes to get to the position she is aiming for. Tate is an annoying character. Even when his “cuteness” comes into play, he isn’t that strong for me - until he starts opening up and showing himself. I think there are a lot of people who can connect with an anxiety issue and being an introvert. My pros, Emmie isn’t a character I would remember and I had to look her name up in the book for this review and Tate stood out simply because I deal with a few of the same issues.

This story captivated me from the jump. I was worried about reading it because I loved The Wife Between Us and didn’t want it to ruin this author for me. I was not disappointed. The story had me guessing none stop, with me not figuring out almost until the very end. The major plot twist had me sitting up in awe of the choices made. Seriously, I was laying down in my blankets and I shot up, shocked because I didn’t see it coming!!

Slow start but overall a good book. Well written and interesting spin. While not a page turner for me personally, the story was great and leads me to want to read more from this author. Great book and def worth the 4 stars.

I am totally in love with the art work. The storyline could be way better. Beautiful woman turned super hero. All I can say without giving it away.
