An amazing read. The story starts from line one, gripping you and pulling you in from the start. The story is so incredulous but real at the same time. All the horrors you hope never come true but know are lurking out there. There are triggers in this book, such as rape, kidnapping and suicidal acts - but done in a tasteful way while keeping the thriller/horror aspect of the story.

If you loved The Selection series, you will love this book. Left with a little bit of a cliff hanger, but that just pushes you to want to read the next one. Strong characters, twists and turns throughout and all around good ya book.

This was hard for me to read. People, there is no “and” in three digit numbers. We don’t say 1 and 0 for ten, so we wouldn’t say 100 and 70 even when spelling it out. The story itself was well enough. I liked that it spread across 170 years - showing who lived in the house. Sadly though, I couldn’t even share the main names except for one but only because it’s my sisters name. I might have enjoyed this story more if it weren’t for all the errors in the book. It made it hard for me. I didn’t DNF it fully because I’m buddy reading it.

Heart grabbing story from the very start. As the book was ending, over the last 100 or so pages, I was unable to put it down.
