This book was amazing. The worldbuilding was stunning and intricate, and I am fascinated by Tchaikovsky's ability to create this world and his imagination. The book was well paced, and I enjoyed the dual perspectives.

The mystery was very meandering and not well paced. The main character got on my last nerve with middle school level internal romantic thoughts about her friend. I definitely preferred the earlier books in this series.

I absolutely ADORED this book! After meeting Thelma and Louisa in the Bonnie and Clyde series, I knew this would be a fun story. The cottagecore setting was lovely, and I loved the miniature donkey wedding. Louisa is a slightly quirky but endearing character and Thelma has so much personality! As per usual, Julie Anne Lindsey has written a fast paced, fun mystery with just a hint of romance. (Who doesn't love Eli?) I loved the plot twist at the end, and I cannot wait for book 2!

While I did enjoy the mystery, I feel like this one wasn't written as well as the first, and I found myself zoning out at various points in the story. I do like that there was more bee/honey realted content than there was in book 1. Even though I didn't like this one as much as the first, I will continue with the series!
