Not in the mood right now

DNF @63%. The writing was nice and the characters were charming, but I was so bored. This felt very drawn out and too long. 

Boring with flat characters.

DNF. The beginning was fantastic, but after the first 25% of the book, the plot dragged so much that I just didn't care anymore. 

I was really excited about this book because the cozy mystery world does not have many authors of color. However, two chapters in I was very uncomfortable with how the black characters were being portrayed. After doing some digging, I found out that this book was written by a half white/half Latino man who wanted to "fill a niche" in this genre. I don't know what the author's intentions were with the characters, but the negative stereotypes were too much. I won't be finishing this book or continuing with the series.
