While I did enjoy this installment of the Flower House series, I didn't love it. Some things required suspending your disbelief even more than what is normal for cozy mysteries. I feel as though the romance with the love interest is a bit forced, and he wasn't included in the storyline as much as I would have liked. Some of the side characters were underdeveloped. I feel like this would have been even better with more revision and editing. I still enjoyed the mystery, and I will be continuing with the series.

This was such a fun start to a new series and very New Orleans! I loved how Byron captured the eclectic setting and personalities of the city as well as all the food. The mystery had fantastic plot twists, clever red herrings, and a few side stories that wove into the story quite well. I loved following Ricki as she tries to solve the mystery, and I loved her relationships that she builds throughout the book. The end had a fun twist that I was not expecting and left me dying to get my hands on book 2!

This was an incredibly strong debut! The storytelling was beautiful with rich world building. I loved the desert setting and the inspiration of One Thousand and One Nights. It was very easy for me to visualize the world. There was a good balance of descriptions and action. I loved the inclusion of the Jinn and their magic. The pacing was a bit inconsistent, but that didn't bother me as much because this is a debut novel. I loved following Loulie, Qadir, and Mazen on their journey in this epic adventure, and I cannot wait for book 2!

I enjoyed this latest installment in the Riverbank Knitting series! Libby is a relatable, fun protagonist, and I love her relationships with the people in her life. I didn't love this one as much as I expected, but it was still a fun cozy. The mystery was fun and well paced, and the book had a fun, cozy setting. I'll definitely be continuing with the series!

This was such a fantastic start to a new series! I loved the kind of off the grid setting and how it played into the mystery. The mystery was well plotted and well paced. I thought I had the villain figured out, but I was wrong! There were so many laugh out loud moments that I was sad to see this book end. I cannot wait for book 2!
