I really liked this! I was very much in the mood for something chill and sweet, and this was exactly it. I loved the main characters and their chemistry. They were written very believably. Sometimes felt like it was going on a bit, especially some conversations could have been condensed down slightly, and Teddy absolutely did not need to be in the final boardroom scene interrupting and dragging it on far longer than necessary. But overall I loved the prose. And I’m glad that, unlike Written in the Stars, the book continued after their post-third-act-breakup reunion and we got to see them together as a couple.
I really loved this for most of the book, the only drawback being the cliffhanger which feels very “second part of a trilogy”. I loved getting to see the continuing relationship of Cecily and Rorie.
The fake relationship plot wasn’t written as well as I would have liked. And then the, like, fifth time one of the characters was described as “spastic” I just had to stop
Because it’s quite a short novella it moves quite fast, but the romance is still believable and the characters feel well-rounded
This is one of my favourite fake relationship stories ever!
My second JJ Arias, definitely going to keep reading more!
