i have to accept that i probably just couldn’t enjoy this after having so recently read Into the Raging Sea by Rachel Slade. if i had read this first it probably would have worked well for me, but it’s just hard to go back from a shipwreck story that was able to have so many details included.

I find this book interesting enough and I want to love it but….the constant jumping through timelines is just too confusing for me. I like non-linear but going decades back and forth so often over a few pages is just too hard for me to keep up with.

I insisted on starting in the beginning of the Hainish Cycle despite what commentary online said, but I was wrong. I will try some of Le Guin’s later work. Her writing is beautiful but I just can’t get into the stories here.
