I do not think that I am in the right head space to continue reading this after the sex scene with Maddie and Ben. 

CW: Possibly sexual assault??

I don't think I like this book. I don't know. There are very few times where I have not been able to figure out how I feel about a book, but here we are. It was confusing and a lot of the scenes made me uncomfortable, disgusting, etc. but that doesn't mean it was bad. It was a good story, I suppose, or else I wouldn't have kept reading, but I feel no real connection to the story, to the character, anything.

This book was slow as hell and sometimes way too confusing for me but it was an okay story with a nice lead in for the sequel

The car they somehow frankensteined together at the chop shop is absolutely impossible for so many reasons, but mostly the wheels. 

Also, why is this ghostwriter obsessed with saying shit is "like poetry". No. It's not. It's barely a fucking understandable sentence.

Still nostalgic though. 

I don't know if reading this while listening to Taylor Swift in the corner of my friend's bedroom by the light of my phone on top of a dresser while the rest of the group watched horror movies and tried to play Russian Roulette with a nerf gun was the best or worst idea, but I do know that this was the most amazing book. I say that a lot but damn this book was great. I loved the characters, the backstories, the references, the connections... and I seriously loved the ending.

This book had a pretty slow start but I am a sucker for a happy(ish) ending

Honestly, this book was confusing. It was plot twist after plot twist after plot twist abd only a handful of them actually made sense. The shock factor isn't worth it if the plot fails to make sense.

Also the fat jokes about Dot were disgusting. 

Perhaps if I had read this before Circe, I would have liked it more. It was slow at times and I know the story very well, unlike Circe's, so it's not Lime I was shocked by much. But Madeline Miller is a good writer and the writing made the story enjoyable, even though I knew it already.

I love, love, love this book. It brought me out of a terrible reading sludge because of how fricking amazing it was and I literally cannot wait for Benjamin and Bobbi's book.
